Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) U.S. citizenship is required.

This position requires a current TOP SECRET clearance and compatibility with SAP and SCI programs. The role is in-person and located at Toyon Research Corporation.

Toyon Research Corporation is seeking a Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) to work closely with Security Officers and Program Managers to assist in security compliance duties. Duties include supporting the PSO in daily security operations, preparing paperwork for visit requests, training, maintaining personnel security files, and aiding in preparations for inspections. The role requires active communication and planning among program management and security team members. A highly qualified candidate will be detail-oriented and proactive in ensuring duties are completed on time.

Responsibilities

Coordinate activities among security officers, program management, customers, and external parties related to program execution, management, and planning.

Lead security meetings to coordinate logistics and follow‑up activities.

Draft and update a variety of security documents (e.g., SOPs, OPSEC plans, Security Test Plans, Fixed Facility Checklist (FFC’s), and other documentation).

Ensure personnel folders (electronic or hard copy) contain required documentation (e.g., approved Program Access Request (PAR), training, Program Indoctrination Agreement (PIA)).

Review documentation, validate office procedures, and conduct physical security inspections.

Coordinate with the IT team to ensure hardware and software are properly documented and integrated into the facility space.

Coordinate and conduct security awareness training, briefings, indoctrinations, and educational programs.

Act as an Alternate COMSEC custodian.

Respond to alarms and emergencies, including after normal business hours and on nights/weekends.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or equivalent experience.

Minimum of two years of direct DoD security experience.

Comprehensive knowledge of security manuals, directives, and executive orders (e.g., EO 13526, DoD 5220.22‑M, ICD 705, DoDM 5200.01, DoDM 5205.07, DoDI 5205.11, DoD 8500.01).

Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral.

Ability to work well in a team environment.

Self‑motivated with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining acute attention to detail.

Must be willing and able to travel approximately 10% of the time.

Preferred

Prior COMSEC training.

Prior experience and references in a CPSO role.

Pay Range The annual pay range for the Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO) is $90,000 to $120,000. These values provide guidance on annual base compensation for a full‑time effort, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits‑related compensation.
