Financial Aid Advisor - Marsha Fuerst School of Nursing - Riverside

Position Summary The Financial Aid Advisor administers financial aid programs for prospective and active students, performing duties associated with awarding, disbursing, and returning federal, state, and other financial aid assistance. The advisor reports to the Campus Director and has accountability to the Corporate Director of Financial Aid.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide information to students and parents regarding financial aid program requirements and procedures; explain financial aid plans and review their rights and responsibilities.
Review financial aid applications, forms and documentation for completeness and accuracy; verify information reported on FAFSA to determine eligibility and complete verification procedures as needed.
Enter FAFSA data, review resulting ISIR and maintain the financial aid funding schedule in CLASS.
Provide entrance and exit counseling.
Answer questions, inquiries or requests from students or parents.
Maintain complete and accurate files and paperwork.
Work closely with Admission and other personnel.
Stay current on all applicable laws and regulations.
Attend financial aid workshops and conferences.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of government regulations and guidelines relating to financial aid and Title IV.
Strong customer‑service orientation and demonstrated interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage sensitive, confidential issues.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet usage.
Flexible schedule and ability to meet program needs.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Minimum one year of financial aid experience (required).
Experience with student financial aid software applications is a plus.
