They’re seeking an experienced
Controller
to lead accounting operations and play a key role in shaping the financial foundation as the company continues its strong growth trajectory.
About the Role The Controller will oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, reporting, and strategic analysis. This hands‑on leader will serve as a trusted financial partner to ownership and operations — providing insight that drives project and company profitability.
You’ll own the month‑end close, manage accounting staff, and enhance systems and controls to support a rapidly scaling construction business.
Key Responsibilities
Lead accounting operations (A/P, A/R, payroll, general ledger, job costing, and WIP reporting).
Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial statements with transparency and accuracy.
Optimize
Sage Intacct
to deliver actionable financial and project‑level insights.
Implement and maintain internal controls, financial policies, and reporting systems.
Partner with project managers and executives to support strategic decisions and profitability goals.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field ( CPA preferred/not required ).
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within
commercial construction .
Proven knowledge of job costing, WIP, and revenue recognition.
Proficiency with Sage Intacct required.
Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ambition to grow into a senior executive role.
