Senior Accountant
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 5 days onsite
Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant responsible for full-cycle accounting duties with a focus on general ledger management. This role will maintain financial reports, records, and ledgers, perform ongoing analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts, and support process improvements. The ideal candidate will understand debits and credits in relation to invoices and purchase orders and have experience in multi-entity environments, preferably within manufacturing or oil & gas services.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain full-cycle accounting processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and subledger maintenance.
Analyze and review financial transactions, providing detailed explanations and support.
Assist with monthly close processes and the preparation of financial statements and disclosures.
Support the design, implementation, and enforcement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP.
Maintain deadlines for internal and external financial reporting.
Reconcile fixed asset subledger to the general ledger; lead fixed asset counts and prepare related reports.
Manage fixed asset budgets and track additions/disposals, coordinating with insurance agents as needed.
Coordinate and prepare annual property tax renditions.
Support sales tax functions and provide backup for balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
Maintain lease accounting compliance under ASC 842.
Collaborate across departments and regions to identify process improvements and resolve accounting issues.
Prepare periodic reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with full-cycle accounting and general ledger focus.
Strong understanding of bookkeeping, accounting principles, and US GAAP.
Experience working in multi-entity environments is preferred.
Background in manufacturing or oil & gas industries is a plus.
Proficiency with ERP systems (experience with SyteLine preferred).
