As The Clinical Pharmacist II your duties will include
Providing pharmaceutical care according to Scripps Health Pharmacy standards to assigned patient group.
Reviewing and evaluating individual drug orders for appropriateness, safety and cost; documenting care provided.
Supervising the drug distribution operation and ensuring safe and effective alternatives.
Communicating routinely with physicians, nurses and patients regarding drug therapy.
Contributing to initiatives that improve the cost‑effectiveness of drug therapy.
Providing age‑specific patient care as established for the area and job title.
Working variable shifts, including evenings and weekends as staffing needs require.
Performing competencies and activities outlined in Pharmacist Authorities policy.
Engaging in prescriptive authorities approved by medical staff.
Participating in direct patient care with care teams.
Performing all clinical pharmacy activities and overseeing activities of pharmacists in training.
Precepting students and/or residents.
Ineligible for hiring incentives
Internal candidates.
Rehires who left Scripps in less than 3 years.
Candidates with less than 1 year of experience.
Retention incentive eligibility
Remain in original hired FTE status and shift.
Remain in original department/specialty.
Remain in original job title.
Transfers to other locations may affect the incentive unless noted in the offer letter.
Required education/experience/specialized skills
BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree.
Required certification/registration
California Pharmacist License.
AHA BLS for health‑care provider.
ACLS certification required prior to responding to codes.
Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) or equivalent nationally recognized certification within 2 years of hire.
Preferred education/experience/specialized skills/certification
Experience in a multi‑site health system pharmacy enterprise.
Teaching certificate or experience precepting students and/or residents.
PGY1 residency or 3 years’ experience in relevant practice area.
Position pay range: $77.50–$96.90 per hour.
