Overview
Payroll Administrator position at Callaway Golf.
Location: Carlsbad, CA. Salary: 60,500.00 - 75,600.00 - 90,700.00 USD Annual.
Responsibilities
Participate in processing accurate and timely payroll for multiple business units, including data entry, review, balancing, and settlement, and processing ad-hoc payroll transactions (e.g., final payments for terminations, time exceptions, commissions, adjustments, reissues) in a fast-paced, shared services environment.
Audit payroll entries for time reporting, exception or unique payments, standard entries, potential errors or omissions, and overall reasonability for accurate and timely gross-to-net payroll processing, focusing on compliance with company policies and federal and state regulations. This includes review of regular wages, supplemental payments, deductions, taxes, benefits and garnishments, leveraging all reporting applications.
Understand and explain variances in payroll results and related functions (e.g., time tracking, G/L accounts, management inquiries), proactively identifying potential problems and solutions.
Assist with providing payroll technical support to multiple departments throughout the Company.
Prepare a wide range of periodic reports applicable to the scope of assigned responsibilities.
Develop and maintain effective partnerships with internal customers, corporate functions, and external agencies, communicating relevant information on a timely basis.
Respond to customers’ needs, manage expectations and provide excellent customer support.
Technical Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Strong attention to detail and solid analytical, reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision, manage multiple projects, and meet critical deadlines while adapting to a changing business environment.
Solid understanding of control procedures, particularly in a Sarbanes-Oxley, public corporate environment, and ability to adhere to those requirements.
Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations related to employee payroll, benefits, and timekeeping policies, including taxation and wage and hour compliance.
Able to recognize, maintain, and protect confidential company or employee information.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor communications to all levels within the company.
Intermediate skill level in MS Excel.
Knowledge of Workday Payroll and Time Tracking is strongly preferred.
Education and Experience
High school diploma required. FPC or CPP certification a plus.
Minimum 3-4 years of payroll, timekeeping, and payroll tax experience in a multi-state, high-volume environment.
Employee Service Center or Shared Services experience a plus.
