Under close supervision, the Radiologic Technologist (Multiple Modality) performs a variety of duties in the Department of Radiology/ Imaging Services of Alameda Health System related to general Radiography/Fluoroscopy. Performs various diagnostic imaging examinations of patients as directed for diagnostic and treatment purposes according to established procedures. Performs related duties as required. DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists Physician in administering opaque media (contrast) Rotates assignments within the department by assigned shifts as required to meet departmental needs Processes Images as appropriate for Modality (CR/DR/Film) and is proficient in utilizing the PACS system (Picture Archival Communications) Maintains adequate records of examinations/dose/contrast as directed, and appropriately utilizing two patient identifier with each patient exam Assists with movement of patients (rooming/transport) Assists in the development/optimization of technical factors for radiographic procedures May assist in equipment or procedures not routinely taught in school May assist in the training of students Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with designated areas or procedures as required Performs all general diagnostic and routine fluoroscopic duties as determined by employer Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of environment and supplies Ensures utilization of non-expired supplies by checking stock regularly and using first in first out rule of resupplying Produces radiographs, positions and transfers patients, and provides immobilization devices as necessary to obtain images Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed radiation safety standards Ensures utilizing techniques that promote ALARA on an individual patient basis (As Low as Reasonably Achieved) for radiation exposure Selects and operates all imaging equipment as directed and licensed to perform MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school Diploma or equivalent, or graduation from an Accredited School of Radiologic Technology, or military equivalent Proficient in a minimum of two Modalities (Xray and Fluoroscopy, plus one additional modality such as CT, MRI, Mammography, etc.) Valid certificate as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the State of California Department of Public Health Valid ARRT Radiologic Technologist certification and other ARRT certifications related to each modality where appropriate Valid Fluoroscopy Permit issued by the State of California BLS - Basic Life Support Certification issued by AHA-American Heart Association Required experience: Must have CT/X-ray experience and certifications required. Covering CT, X-ray, and C-arm. OR cases. Pay Range: $54.22 - $71.25 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors including candidate’s experience, education, skills, licenses and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization.
