This position is the Correctional Administrator (Associate Warden) responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating correctional programs at Sierra Conservation Center and other potential locations. Under the general direction of the Chief Deputy Administrator, the Associate Warden oversees facility operations, staff supervision, offender programming, and regulatory compliance across multiple divisions such as the Facility leadership, Education Department, Classification and Parole Representation, Records, Administrative Segregation, Healthcare Access, and Safety units. Key responsibilities include: Direct supervision of facility captains, health‑care access captains, and administrative staff. Coordination of religious, emergency logistics, and sexual misconduct reduction programs. Administration of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) coordination and ADA compliance. Management of health‑care access, prisoner industries, and substance‑use treatment programs. Participation in daily operational meetings and monthly shift coverage. Ensuring compliance with the Department of Operations Manual and related regulations. Alternative duties may involve business services, camp operations, and central operations responsibilities with similar supervisory and programmatic oversight. Qualifications
Desirable qualifications: Extensive knowledge of public and correctional administration, offender classification, discipline, parole, budgeting, and health‑care coordination. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing large organizational budgets. Strong communication, conflict resolution, and strategic planning skills. Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and a drug‑free workplace. Legal compliance regarding labor, civil service regulations, and security protocols. Working Conditions
Sierra Conservation Center is located in Jamestown, Tuolumne County. The role requires minimum 40‑hour work weeks, including evening and overnight shifts, and flexibility to tour First and Third Watches. The environment includes outdoor conservation work, administrative duties, and emergency response responsibilities. Minimum Requirements
