Job Description The
Cloud Financial Operations Analyst
will drive
FinOps and governance strategies
across a multi-cloud environment (primarily
AWS and Azure , with some
GCP
exposure) for a key Randstad client in the DC area. This vital role is responsible for the financial accountability of cloud spending, implementing processes for
cost show-back/chargeback , identifying and executing
optimization and rightsizing opportunities , and ensuring robust cloud governance through policies like tagging and infrastructure request management. This individual will translate complex cloud billing data into
actionable financial insights
for stakeholders, balancing technical requirements with fiscal responsibility to maximize cloud investment value.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement FinOps strategy: Design and execute cloud financial operations strategies to optimize spending across AWS, Azure, and GCP, including continuous monitoring and detailed analysis of usage patterns.
Cost management & reporting: Manage the cloud financial reporting lifecycle, including generating accurate cost allocation, administering show-back/chargeback systems, and refining cost forecasting models.
Optimization & savings: Proactively collaborate with engineering and business teams to identify, prioritize, and implement cost-saving opportunities and asset management strategies, focusing on rightsizing and resource utilization improvements.
Governance & compliance: Assist in the design, improvement, and enforcement of multi-cloud governance policies and best practices, including managing infrastructure request intake and ensuring tagging compliance.
Stakeholder guidance: Provide expert, executive-level guidance and consultation on cloud cost optimization and governance principles to stakeholders across technical and business units.
Technical documentation: Organize and document technical and financial requirements, creating detailed technical design specifications for incoming infrastructure requests.
Continuous improvement: Stay current with the latest cloud technologies, FinOps frameworks, and industry best practices to ensure continuous improvement of the organization’s cloud financial posture.
Required Qualifications
Proven, successful experience managing multiple concurrent projects and supporting multiple internal customers in a large enterprise or multi-cloud environment.
Strong technical and financial understanding of AWS and Azure resources, services, and pricing models.
Strong foundation in cloud financial management principles and FinOps practices, including the FinOps Framework.
Proficiency in analyzing complex cloud billing and utilization data to create clear, actionable financial and operational insights.
Proven experience implementing impactful FinOps and governance initiatives.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) certification.
Hands‑on experience with cloud management and FinOps tools (e.g., Apptio, Cloudability).
Exposure to or experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
