This position supports the National Guard Bureau (NGB) Manpower and Personnel Directorate (J-1), works at the Temple Army National Guard Readiness Center in Arlington, VA, and provides Shared Situational Awareness to the J1 Strategy and Policy Branch, and the NGB senior leadership.
The incumbent will be required to work on site in Arlington each day. There may be some telework authorized.
Responsibilities
Update J1 data and maintain manpower and personnel tools, to include Juvare COP, Advana, Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) and other Task management tools, as well as other Federal and State interagency websites and reports.
Monitor and coordinate with internal and external providers and consumers of NGCC and incorporate information updates in briefs/information papers.
Monitor Juvare COP, Advana, and Excel databases, Defense Readiness Reporting System recent and archived reports, and Joint Force Headquarters-States (JFHQ-S), Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) and Combatant Command websites and reports for updates to the status of worldwide status of NG personnel and provide a synopsis of updates.
Prepare draft daily, weekly, monthly and annual personnel status reports and compile the NGB J1 JPERSTAT and send NGB-J1 Senior Leaders, a minimum of one time per week.
Support the Adaptive Battle Staff when needed, to include daily Shift Change Briefings and weekly Team Chief Meetings.
Monitor tools and products multiple times a day and alert the Branch Chief upon the receipt of Requests for Information (RFI) or Requests for Assistance (RFAs) by OSD, JCS, JFHQ, or Combatant Commands and inform Branch Chief on the content of the request(s).
TS/SCI security clearance is required from the Defense Industry Security Clearance Office.
Ability to effectively interact and communicate daily with General Officers, GS 14’s and GS 15’s.
Have strong experience in using the full suite of MS Office products, specifically MS Excel.
Have strong data mining skills and experience.
Ability to write or contribute to daily, weekly, monthly and annual status reports.
Ability to monitor and track tasks and requests for information received through email, meetings, discussions, and tasker systems.
Have experience working with Juvare COP system, Advana system, Defense Readiness Reporting System.
A college degree is not required but is desired.
Qualifications All responsibilities listed above are expected from the candidate, including: TS/SCI clearance, effective communication with senior leaders, proficiency in MS Office and data mining, and experience with Juvare COP, Advana, and Defense Readiness Reporting System.
