Project Executive – McKinstry
McKinstry is innovating the waste and climate harm out of the built environment and is building a thriving planet. As a Project Executive, you will help develop and manage large and complex industrial construction projects in our New Construction division in Seattle, Washington.
Buildings are a leading contributor to the climate crisis, generating nearly 40% of total global energy‑related carbon emissions. We address the climate, affordability, and equity crises through renewable and energy services, engineering and design, and construction and facility services.
The Opportunity We are adding an Industrial‑focused Construction Project Executive to our growing New Construction division.
Responsibilities
Perform oversight on all activities, project functions, and the resources needed.
Define project assignments for team members.
Serve as a primary point of contact with the customer during project implementation.
Have financial responsibility for the projects—including accurate, timely, and salient reporting to stakeholders.
Act as a steward of all company policies and procedures.
Respond to stakeholders with accurate and timely information to facilitate company decision‑making.
Exercise global decision making by considering other departments such as project management, sales, estimating, accounting, purchasing, etc.
Facilitate invoice payments from clients and ensure timely payment of subcontractors.
Be responsible for all pre‑construction budgets/estimates.
Prepare client and subcontractor change orders.
Prepare monthly project accounting review (ETC).
Ensure projects are completed on schedule.
Monitor and proof change issue log.
Select, develop, coach, and manage staff.
Develop positive working relationships with craft foremen and other field personnel assigned to projects.
Meet with each trade’s foreman and review the project as the design develops.
Effectively manage a percentage of the annual sales based on department needs.
Provide support to the customer with regard to project financials, contractual, and technical issues.
Work with a large client base including owners and business leaders for the company.
Takes ownership of projects as assigned by the Business Unit Manager.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
Ten (10) years of project management experience in construction.
Five (5) years managing a team.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio.
Proficient with scheduling software: Microsoft Project, Primavera, and/or Suretrak.
RCDD, CPM professional designation preferred.
Working knowledge of SharePoint preferred.
Knowledge of applicable codes required.
Knowledge of equipment selection procedures, including layout and clearances.
Knowledge of construction financial programs and software.
Basic estimating skills preferred.
Knowledge of low voltage systems (HVAC controls, fire alarm, security) is preferred.

The pay range for this position is $118,170 – $210,100 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
