Job Description As the College’s Workday expert-in-residence for Workday Student, this role ensures that the College gets the most value from its use of the Workday platform. This position will lead student work during version upgrades and feature rollouts, coordinate issue resolution, and apply configuration changes. Reporting to the Director, Workday Platform, this position provides student-specific input to strategy and governance discussions.

This job is performed remotely. Due to the sensitive nature of this role, a private, distraction-free work environment is required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Keeping Workday running and current:

Platform maintenance: Lead review and testing of student upgrades and releases, coordinating SMEs as needed.

Support: Provide ongoing support for Workday Student functionality, day-to-day operations, and troubleshoot end‑user issues.

Data Management: Assist in creating data loads into Workday, conducting system audits for data validation to ensure integrity and accuracy.

Platform configuration: Configure and troubleshoot Workday Student business processes, reports, and integrations to meet internal clients’ needs.

Reporting: Become proficient in Workday reporting; support users with functional report requests.

Project Management: Adhere to departmental methodology for change control, issue resolution, and documentation; develop, test, and deploy processes and integrations.

Making the most of Workday:

Strategy: Help set the College strategy for Workday Student; maintain product roadmap awareness and contribute to strategy discussions; translate College needs into defined Workday work.

Project Support: Participate in special projects, contributing analytical skills to enhance overall system performance.

Requirement Development: Work collaboratively to gather functional and technical requirements; identify opportunities to streamline processes.

Prioritization: Provide input to the Director to help prioritize initiatives; create and maintain the Workday Student roadmap.

Training: Define SMEs’ training plan; deliver additional training as needed.

Vendors: Manage contracts for ancillary Student products; consolidate functionality onto Workday; manage consultant engagements for larger initiatives.

Keeping yourself up to date:

Training: Maintain Workday Pro certification in Student and Reporting.

Community: Represent the College in user conferences and events to maintain a network.

Other duties & responsibilities as assigned.

Skills, Qualifications & Requirements

Working knowledge of Workday Student with at least one implementation project experience.

Eagerness to explore new technology and processes.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to interact positively with a wide variety of users.

Ability to communicate business needs to technical people and simplify complex tech information for non‑technical users.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in student information system analysis, design, development, and support.

Hands‑on experience configuring business processes, condition rules, notifications, and alerts.

Experience developing advanced reports, dashboards, EIBs, and basic Workday security.

Workday Student experience is required.

Proficient office productivity software skills (Office, G.Suite, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

Workday Pro certification(s) preferred, or willingness to attain certification.

Physical Qualifications: Ability to work at a computer for long periods.

Salary Range:

$115,000 - $120,000 annually

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
