Overview Represents Sutter Health in capital improvement projects, including new development, facility expansion, renovation and retrofitting. Coordinates, monitors, and reports on design and construction activities in accordance with the internal departmental project controls requirements. Responsible for administering consultant and construction agreements. Facilitates quality control, maintenance of design and construction schedules, construction management, and owner representative responsibilities. Manages small project delivery team staffs to provide coordinated expertise, standardized tools and project management advice to the internal stakeholders. Demonstrates a mastery of project management skills, works with a high degree of autonomy, and is responsible for delivering large scale projects with moderate to difficult complexity.
Responsibilities
Represent Sutter Health in capital improvement projects, including new development, facility expansion, renovation and retrofitting.
Coordinate, monitor, and report on design and construction activities in accordance with internal department project controls requirements.
Administer consultant and construction agreements.
Facilitate quality control and maintenance of design and construction schedules.
Oversee construction management and owner representative activities.
Manage small project delivery team staffs to provide coordinated expertise, standardized tools, and project management advice to internal stakeholders.
Deliver large scale projects with a high degree of autonomy and moderate to difficult complexity.
Qualifications
Education : Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma. Bachelor's: Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management, or other closely related field.
Typical Experience : 8 years of recent relevant experience.
Skills And Knowledge :
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills in the delivery of health care facilities from programming through facility activation (medical office buildings, acute care general hospitals, outpatient surgery centers, psychiatric hospitals).
Familiar with health care construction building codes and regulations, space programming and allocation cost analysis, discretionary approval processes, construction means and methods, construction processes and procedures, and contract implementation.
Familiar with California building approval processes including OSHPD, State Fire Marshal and municipal discretionary approvals, and TJC regulation.
Expertise in project management techniques and software.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and team skills for coordination across project delivery team, affiliate, and vendors.
Client relationship management skills to maintain positive relations between fps and affiliate leadership.
Leadership ability including delegation of tasks to technical and non-technical staff.
Expertise in project management from design through final completion and licensing on hospital projects.

Pay Range : $85.47 to $136.76 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
