Posted 1 day ago Protect the principal against possible threats Federal building access control, employee and visitor identification checks, security equipment monitoring, roving patrols of the interior and exterior of federal property Monitoring surveillance cameras for any disruptions or unlawful activities Providing detailed reports on daily activities and/or incidents that may have occurred Knowledgeable and able to effectively use magnetometer and X‑ray machines Using provided communication devices, such as two‑way radios, in a clear and concise manner Leveraging excellent listening and service skills in emergency response and evaluation procedures Performing CPR or first aid when needed Ensuring credentials are maintained per contract requirements Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Project Manager Must be at least 21 years of age United States citizen or a lawful permanent resident with a verifiable honorable discharge from the U.S. Armed Forces Social Security Card issued by the Social Security Administration Minimum of two (2) years of armed security experience or one (1) year of full‑duty law enforcement experience in a full‑service police department within the U.S. Minimum of two (2) years as a member of U.S. Armed Forces with an honorable discharge Fluently speak, read, and comprehend English and able to compose written reports in English Must be able to qualify with a revolver or semi‑automatic weapon Strong relevant knowledge of the security industry Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must have a customer service‑driven mindset Ability to communicate effectively and present information to all levels of internal and external customers PSOs shall be physically able to perform tasks in the performance of assigned duties Frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, and stooping up to 12 hours per day, indoors or outdoors Frequent contact with the general public, law enforcement, and dispatch center, requiring the ability to speak clearly and remain calm in stressful situations Ability to remain on post for up to four (4) consecutive hours without sitting, eating, or receiving a break Ability to remain alert for up to 12 hours, with the ability to react quickly to a variety of unexpected and dangerous situations Ability to subdue violent or potentially violent or disturbed individuals or intervene in a crisis Occasional running, sprinting, lifting heavy weights, moving heavy objects, climbing stairs Medical Insurance Life Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Paid Vacation Paid Sick Days Paid Holidays High School Diploma / GED MD Armed Guard Card DHS Suitability Tri‑Annual Refresher Exhibit CPR / American Red Cross Certification MD Security Guard Certification Unarmed National Weapons Detection Training Program (NWDTP) Firearms Qualification MEB Expandable Baton Initials Weapon Training FPS Orientation Certificate Basic Training Exhibits 72 / 64 hours O.C. aerosol spray BTI Security is committed to a policy of equal employment opportunity and does not unlawfully discriminate against employees or applicants for employment.
