The Practice Is Offering The Following Benefits
Guaranteed base salary of $140k + bonuses (most doctors earn closer to $160k after bonuses; top producers exceed $200k annually)
Full benefits package including health insurance (and dental), 401k (no match), CE reimbursement, 3 weeks PTO, 1 CE PTO Day, 6 paid holidays, 75% of AOA/IOA dues paid, Maternity/Parental leave
$10k signing bonus
OPTOS on site (free screener for every patient) and aim to provide visual field and OCT for full-scope practice
Ability to see 4 minimum patients per hour with full tech workup
About Dr. Tavel Family Eye Care With roots dating back to the 1940s, Dr. Tavel Family Eye Care serves Indiana families and businesses with eye health services and eye care products. The organization operates multiple locations across Indiana and employs professionals across customer service, billing, IT, marketing, and clinical roles. Practices utilize autorefractors, non-contact tonometry, and digital visual acuity charts. Optometrists receive iPads with cloud-based practice management and EHR software to support a seamless patient experience. The Optometrist Opening Dr. Tavel Family Eye Care seeks an Optometrist focused on excellent service and improving vision in the communities it serves. You will perform comprehensive exams, diagnose and manage ocular disease, and handle eye care emergencies. The role requires building strong doctor-patient relationships and proficiency in disease management, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests. Experience in ocular diseases and interest in pediatric eye care are assets. Opportunities exist to support the expansion of contact lens services and medical management growth.
Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive eye exams and manage ocular disease
Handle eye care emergencies and coordinate with optical team
Order and interpret diagnostic testing; lead patient care decisions
Build strong doctor-patient relationships and provide patient education
Support expansion of contact lens services and medical management initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
Indiana optometric license
NPI number
Preferred Qualifications
Primary care experience
Ocular disease experience
Interest in expanding pediatric offerings
Hours
8:00 am – 5:30 pm Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri
9:30 am – 7:00 pm Thursdays
8:00 am – 1:30 pm Saturdays (negotiable; could be all Saturdays)
