Surgery
department. This position is a
100% onsite opportunity . You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. Under the supervision of the Supervisor and Director, Surgical Services, and direction of the registered nurse, you participate in the intraoperative care of a patient in Surgery. You know, follow, and actively support the philosophy, mission, and Vision of Ingalls Hospital. You observe and adhere to all corporate compliance requirements and communicate issues as they arise to the appropriate parties as identified in the Corporate Compliance Plan. Essential Job Functions
Compassionately give personal patient care to provide comfort and well-being to the surgical patient. Anticipate the needs of surgeons, passing instruments and providing sterile items in an efficient manner. Performs as assistant by holding instruments as directed by the physician. Prepare the procedure room while checking non-sterile equipment to ensure that it is in proper working order. Participate in positioning of patients for procedure. Post-op responsibilities include cleaning of the procedure room, removal of all contaminated instruments, linen, and garbage; disposal of all blood and body fluids utilizing the Biohaz process. Provide equipment and supplies based on patient/procedure needs. Adherence to Infection Control Principles. Required Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent Completion of Surgical Technologist Program Certification as a CST from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within 6 months of hire Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 1-year experience as a CST in an acute care hospital GI Tech experience Position Details

Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
