Position Description
The Business Information Analyst plays a key role in supporting Applied Medical’s data-driven decision-making and sales performance operations. This role focuses on extracting, analyzing, and interpreting business data to provide actionable insights that support compensation planning, performance tracking, and operational efficiency. As part of the Business Information team, the Business Information Analyst contributes to developing analytical tools and reports that enhance strategic business planning and sales execution within the medical device industry. Key Responsibilities Develop, create, and maintain data models, dashboards, and management reports using SQL, Power BI, and Excel to support business decisions. Analyze and interpret sales data to model, implement, and communicate commission plans, quotas, and performance metrics aligned with company goals. Calculate, validate, and distribute commission payouts and performance statements within established deadlines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales Operations, Finance, and Field Implementation, to ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems. Research and resolve inquiries related to compensation, performance tracking, and data discrepancies. Evaluate and improve existing business processes and reporting frameworks to increase efficiency and accuracy. Provide ad hoc reporting, analysis, and data-driven insights to support management decisions. Success in This Role Looks Like

This position requires the following skills and attributes: Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, finance, or accounting (or BS in a related quantitative field). Three or more years of experience in business information, data analytics, or business intelligence. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including dashboard creation and complex data analysis. Strong knowledge of Power BI for building and maintaining analytical dashboards and reports. Experience using SQL for data extraction, transformation, and integration from relational databases. Working knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Crystal Reports, or other report-writing tools. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and data accuracy. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly. Effective time management, organization, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Collaborative mindset and ability to build trust-based relationships across departments. Preferred
The following skills and attributes are preferred: Experience with sales compensation modeling, financial forecasting, or performance analytics. Knowledge of accounting principles and their application in sales reporting and commission analysis. Familiarity with data visualization best practices and dashboard usability standards.
