Job Description
We are seeking an experienced
Mainframe Developer
to join our team and contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise‑level applications running on IBM Mainframe systems. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and related mainframe technologies, along with a solid understanding of SDLC and modern integration practices.
Responsibilities
Analyze, design, code, test, and implement mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
Perform enhancements, maintenance, and production support for existing mainframe applications.
Review business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver scalable solutions.
Debug and resolve complex mainframe application issues and performance bottlenecks.
Develop and maintain batch and online processing jobs.
Integrate mainframe applications with external systems and APIs as needed.
Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and system integration testing.
Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and cross‑functional IT teams.
Prepare technical documentation and adhere to established development standards and best practices.
Required Skills
Strong hands‑on experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM.
Experience with mainframe development tools such as Endevor, Changeman, File‑Aid, and Abend‑AID.
Proficiency in SQL and database concepts.
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem‑solving skills.
Experience in production support, job scheduling, and batch processing.
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies is a plus.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in financial, insurance, or banking domains.
Exposure to API/Middleware integration or modernization projects.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
