Job Description
At
onsemi , we help improve lives through silicon solutions every day. Our intelligent power and sensing technologies solve the world’s most complex challenges and lead the way in creating a safer, cleaner, and smarter world. Our group develops compute subsystems containing MCUs, DSPs, and accelerators for a large variety of products and markets.
The Role Si Design Architect for a broad array of Analog and Mixed signals devices, with a strong focus on sensor products and the associated analog and digital IP. This position will report directly into the Vice President of New Product Development and play a strong role in the formation of current and future product families, and the details of the design content.
The successful candidate for this position will have a strong background in chip product design, both digital and analog, and additional preference for memory design experience. Understanding of DFT, I/Os, Cybersecurity, AI & NNA, production test efficiency, and specific strong analog/digital experience can be distinguishing.
While this position is embedded in the product design team and will interface intensely with the design organization, there is also an existing team of market focused product architects, and this role will be a close partner and bridge between the market need and the details of product family & IP chip content.
Responsibilities
Technical leadership: Define the architecture and methodology for AMS products in the Sensor Interface Division, and associated IP in the Treo IP platform. This work will target a broad spectrum of products, covering elements of hardware and software.
Problem solving: Identify novel solutions when architecting product functionality and/or with design methodologies.
Technical guidance & mentoring: Guide world‑wide teams in technical areas, from microarchitecture to productization.
Innovation: Define and create design methodology and design flow improvements for efficiency and robustness.
Create Specifications: Work with experienced experts across a broad range of devices, and put together specifications and circuits required for market‑winning devices built on a strong and consistent IP strategy.
Qualifications
B.Tech / M.Tech in Electrical Engineering.
At least 12 years of strong technical experience across any/many domains of VLSI design.
An extensive technical background within the development of semiconductor products or sub‑components (IPs).
Experience with embedded CPUs, from a hardware and software/firmware perspective.
Experience with analog circuit design and/or specification.
Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
Ability to define strategic actions, with appropriate design trade‑off analyses.
What Else You May Bring
Experience in the design of CPU/MCU (sub)systems, compute functions and accelerators.
Development of signal processing components or processing systems.
Creation of Confluence and/or web pages, and/or database development.
Definition of design intent: one or more of specification, microarchitecture, structural / functional assessments (CDC, test readiness), verification methods (formal / simulation), physical design (synthesis, timing/power optimization), process technology aspects, etc.
Experience in FPGA prototyping.
Awareness or experience in mixed‑signal design and verification, including memories, I/Os, ADCs, power‑up systems, various analog circuits, analog and digital DFT, and other chip structures.
