Senior (10 years+) IT Project Manager AI Focus
Location: On site in Milwaukee, hybrid schedule (3 times per week).
Rate Range: $70 - $80/hour.
This is an AI focused role — driving strategic initiatives that embed AI across the enterprise. The Project Manager will lead efforts to formalize AI policy and governance, implement scalable enterprise AI solutions such as business-focused chatbots, and oversee the deployment of Microsoft Copilot to enhance productivity and decision‑making.
The project manager is responsible for successfully managing the project from planning through closure, delivering in alignment with defined outcomes (business/IT capabilities, benefits, budget, resource, and timeline commitments).
Responsibilities
Overall management and coordination of design, build, test, change management, deployment, and support transition for the project.
Define project scope and deliverables.
Manage overall project budget, scope, and timeline.
Resolve or coordinate resolution of project‑level risks and issues, escalating program‑level risks and issues to PMO.
Ensure project uses PMO‑defined standards, methods, and approach (Project Management Methodology).
Work with project leads to monitor cost, schedule, and quality, ensuring project success.
Create, maintain, and track the work plan (including interim and major project milestones).
Schedule and coordinate project activities, work assignments, and status reporting.
Manage day‑to‑day project resource commitments, schedule, dependencies, and deadlines.
Communicate a compelling vision of project goals to team members.
Drive delivery of deliverables with urgency, quality, accuracy, and completeness.
Manage scope change requests per PMO standards.
Manage cross‑team integration topics and work across leads to drive resolution.
Collaborate with other Project Managers and Delivery Leads on cross‑project dependencies and milestones.
Coordinate with program leadership / PMO to obtain approval on resource requirements.
Foster teamwork among project team members to achieve outcomes.
Produce weekly project status report.
Meet regularly with PMO to review status, risks, and issues.
Meet regularly with stakeholders and sponsors.
Monitor team performance, provide feedback, and escalated issues as needed.
Manage key stakeholder expectations in collaboration with PMO.
Ensure integration/transition plan for changes into normal operations.
Perform project closure activities, including lessons learned and archiving artifacts.
Qualifications
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to convey concepts professionally to stakeholders.
Demonstrated understanding and experience with applicable SDLC/Project methodologies and frameworks (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum).
Working familiarity with PMI foundational standards such as PMBOK.
Experience and working knowledge with Microsoft Project and Project Web App (PWA).
