Job Description This is a full‑time, direct placement role at Citadel Roofing and Solar. Citadel Roofing and Solar is a well‑established, fast‑growing, fully integrated roofing and solar company with more than 30 years of contracting experience and a stellar reputation for service excellence to new construction homebuilders and homeowners throughout Northern, Central, and Southern California. Our focus and core expertise is new construction. We serve national, regional, and local homebuilders, real estate developers, and general contractors, providing long‑lasting roofing, solar, and home battery storage solutions for single‑family homes, multifamily dwellings, and selected commercial buildings. We also provide new construction‑grade roofing, solar, and home battery storage solutions to existing homeowners. Reliable execution and customer service are at the heart of our operations.

Opportunity We are currently looking for a successful Project Manager to drive and manage our multifamily housing / commercial solar projects throughout California. Project sizes will range from 20 kW to 1 MW and will largely be in new construction. Working closely with various internal and external stakeholders, the Project Manager will be responsible for completing high‑quality solar and storage design management, construction coordination, permit oversight, and staying highly organized and efficient with a large portfolio of projects.

Responsibilities

Responsible for maintenance and management of project budgets

Responsible for managing subcontractors and contract change orders

Responsible for contacting homebuilders and general contractors to gather missing information needed to complete designs, or RFIs.

Responsible for identifying special‑order material for projects and initiating orders from vendors as well as tracking of project schedule vs. material shipment dates.

Good working knowledge of VNEM interconnections and electrical switch gears.

Responsible for ensuring that the solar equipment will fit in the location onsite and ensure the builder and architects have signed off on the locations of all equipment.

Maintain good notes in multiple Excel trackers, CRM and high‑level organization and diligence in your personal project pipeline tracker of key milestones.

Read construction blueprints, drawings, plans and specifications.

Frequent and assertive communication and follow‑up with all parties to ensure timely action to complete all tasks.

Build and retain relationships with vendors.

Direct and lead various teams to success and process‑oriented work.

Ensure thoroughness of projects and help with ease of construction by field operations.

Keep and track all key milestones for each project and ensure satisfied clients and Citadel success.

Understand and continue to learn utility requirements for VNEM and become subject‑matter expert (SME).

Requirements

High school diploma. College degree or some college experience preferable.

3 years of solar or electrical experience.

Experience with carports and VNEM solar interconnections.

Experience with Helioscope and energy tool base a plus.

Experience in reading construction drawings and specifications. Demonstrated aptitude will be considered in lieu of experience.

Experience with new construction commercial and multifamily projects.

Experience with the solar design and latest building code and Title 24 requirements for commercial and residential PV systems.

Computer proficiency including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Salary $85,000 – $95,000 per year.
