Project Manager – Solar & Roofing
Full-time position: This is a full-time, direct placement role at Citadel Roofing and Solar.
Company: Citadel Roofing and Solar is a well-established, fast‑growing, fully integrated roofing and solar company with more than 30 years of contracting experience. We focus on new construction, serving homebuilders, developers, and general contractors in Northern, Central, and Southern California. We provide long‑lasting roofing, solar, and home battery storage solutions for single‑family homes, multifamily dwellings, and selected commercial buildings. Our core expertise is new construction‑grade roofing, solar, and storage for both new projects and existing homeowners.
Opportunity: We are looking for a successful Project Manager to drive and manage our multifamily housing / commercial solar projects throughout California. Project sizes range from 20 kW to 1 MW and will largely be new construction. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the Project Manager will complete high‑quality solar and storage design management, construction coordination, permit oversight, and maintain an organized portfolio of projects.
Responsibilities
Maintain and manage project budgets.
Manage subcontractors and contract change orders.
Contact homebuilders and general contractors to gather missing design information or respond to RFIs.
Identify and order special‑order materials, tracking project schedule versus material shipment dates.
Apply knowledge of VNEM interconnections and electrical switch gears.
Ensure solar equipment fits on site and obtain builder/architect approval of equipment locations.
Maintain detailed notes in Excel trackers, CRM, and a project pipeline tracker of key milestones.
Read construction blueprints, drawings, plans and specifications.
Communicate frequently and assertively with all parties to ensure timely task completion.
Build and retain vendor relationships.
Lead teams toward successful, process‑oriented outcomes.
Ensure project thoroughness and assist field operations in ease of construction.
Track all key milestones and ensure client satisfaction and company success.
Learn and become a subject‑matter expert on VENM utility requirements.

High school diploma; college degree or some college experience preferred.
3 years of solar or electrical experience.
Experience with carports and VNEM solar interconnections.
Experience with Helioscope and Energy tool base a plus.
Experience reading construction drawings and specifications (or demonstrated aptitude).
Experience with new construction commercial and multifamily projects.
Experience with solar design and latest building code and Title 24 requirements for commercial and residential PV systems.
Computer proficiency: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Salary $85,000 – $95,000 / yr
