The Foundation of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charlotte (The Foundation) is the not-for-profit organization supporting Diocese of Charlotte’s ministries and long-term financial sustainability. Managed by a Board of Directors comprised of clergy, laity, and civic leaders, The Foundation has $97 million in assets under management and received $11.3 million in new gifts in fiscal year 2024. Position and structure

Dioceses of Charlotte is at a critical inflection point. With a rich philanthropic history resulting from a period of stable leadership, Diocese of Charlotte seeks to sustain its legacy during a period of leadership transition by recruiting a disciplined Deputy Executive Director of Development (Deputy Executive Director). The successful candidate will report to the Executive Director of Development and President of the Foundation, serving as their clear successor with the unmatched opportunity to learn and inherit their day-to-day and strategic responsibilities both at Diocese of Charlotte and The Foundation, predicated upon their success. The ideal candidate will partner with the Executive Director of Development to garner foundational knowledge of Diocese of Charlotte’s multiple appeals and fundraising efforts, develop deep and trusted relationships, and gain an understanding of the critical work done by Diocese of Charlotte. To achieve Diocese of Charlotte’s financial and spiritual goals, the Deputy Executive Director will commit to a strong faith-based stewardship approach to educate, encourage, and assist people of the diocese to use gifts of time, talent, and treasure to be disciples, to help fulfill Diocese of Charlotte’s spiritual mission, and provide a strong financial foundation for the Catholic Church in Western North Carolina. The Deputy Executive Director will act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church and carry a professional and personal commitment to supporting and upholding Diocese of Charlotte’s mission and ethos. The successful candidate will have the stature and credibility to develop deep, collaborative relationships with the bishop, vicar general, diocesan curial team leaders, Foundation Board of Directors, diocesan staff, pastors, principals, agency directors, laity, and all diocesan entities.
