Revenue Accountant (Non-Profit) - DC
Local non-profit seeking an experienced accountant to join their team in DC (3 days in office).
Ideal candidate has 4+ years of accounting experience (potentially open to less years for a perfect match).
Base pay range $75,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr
Responsibilities:
Will oversee
revenue recognition
in line with
US GAAP and ASC 958
Will help maintain schedules for
restricted and unrestricted revenue , receivables, deferred and conditional contributions, and translate donor and grant agreements into clean accounting and appropriate releases.
Month-end close
with well-supported
journal entries
and reconciliations, deliver crisp
monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue reports
for leadership, auditors, and donors, and keep us audit-ready across global and country office reviews.
You’ll also strengthen the way we work documenting and improving processes and controls and supporting systems upgrades and automation while partnering closely with fundraising on gifts from foundations, major donors, donor‑advised funds, and planned giving so that donor intent is honored every step of the way.
Qualifications:
Ideally seeking 4+ years of relevant experience
CPA is not required, would be a plus
Previous non‑profit exposure will be key (ASC 958 etc)
Open to accountants from consulting firms as well
Excel is heavily used, strong working knowledge will be key
They use NetSuite & Salesforce as well. Working knowledge of these would be great, not fully required
