Job Summary
The Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha is actively recruiting an Infectious Diseases physician to join our faculty. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to specialized ID services, including biocontainment, solid organ transplant, oncology, and critical care. Join a robust team of 30 ID physicians, supported by APPs, clinical, and research staff, delivering the full spectrum of infectious disease care at our clinical partner, Nebraska Medicine. Our division is deeply committed to subspecialty ID care, cutting‑edge research, and graduate medical education through our ID fellowship program.
Responsibilities
Associate Medical Director of the Biocontainment Unit (BCU) – play a key role in one of the nation’s premier biocontainment programs.
Critical Care ID Call Coverage – assist in managing infectious disease cases in critical care settings.
Inpatient ID Coverage – provide specialized care for solid organ transplant and oncology ID service lines.
Associate Medical Director of Infection Control – contribute to infection prevention initiatives.
Global Health & Research Support – opportunities to engage in two funded grants through Global Health & the College of Public Health.
