The School of Geosciences (SGS) at the University of South Florida Tampa campus seeks a 9‑month, full‑time, tenure‑earning Assistant Professor in Water Science. Candidates focusing on water quality in Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East are encouraged, although any specialty will be considered. Salary is negotiable. Start date: August 7, 2026.
Responsibilities • Develop an externally funded research program.
• Mentor graduate students.
• Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Environmental Science and Policy (ESP).
The candidate’s specialty will complement existing strengths in ESP, Geography, and Geology, such as wetland environments, water policy and management, hydrology, and global conservation.
Qualifications Minimum : Doctoral degree in Environmental Science or a related field from an accredited institution, with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, research, and service. Applicants who are ABD will be considered, provided the degree is conferred by the appointment start date. Must meet USF criteria for the rank of Assistant Professor.
Preferred : Research and teaching that incorporate the human‑environmental nexus of water science.
