Overview This position is for placement in the

M Physicians Neurodiagnostic Training Program , a one-year clinical and didactic course built to develop and train employees to perform EEG procedures. As a full-time employee, students gain hands on experience working alongside experienced technologists and other professionals providing care as part of the MINCEP Epilepsy Program. Enrollees are eligible to apply for the ABRET EEG boards to become a registered technologist (R. EEG T.) upon completion of the program. Throughout the year there will be opportunities to work on different inpatient and outpatient procedures. Eligible graduates of the program may be offered advancement to open positions within M Physicians as technologists with continued career development assistance.

Responsibilities

Complete coursework quizzes and finals according to school schedule

Track and complete 500 clinical hours

Taking EEG boards within a year of graduating school

Prepares patients and equipment for EEG procedure

Operate equipment to record electrical activity of the brain during the procedure

Monitors patient respiration, heart, and brain activity during procedure

Records evoked responses from patient

Prepare readings for interpretation by a Physician, including annotating and identification of EEG activity

Performs standard and complex electroencephalographic recordings and evoked potentials in a manner consistent with the standards of care, objectives, and procedures of the EEG Laboratory and Epilepsy Monitoring Unit

Assures availability and proper function of supplies and equipment

Assembles and adjusts equipment

Cleans, replenishes, and maintains instruments and supplies as needed

Participates in the evaluation of new equipment or supplies

Assists other members of the team with cleaning of procedure room and preparation for patient

Adheres to standards of clinical practice and patient care appropriate to the age and state of the patient

Collaborates with the Physician and other staff

Respects confidentiality of all information in compliance with HIPPA standards

Demonstrates ability to deliver care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served

Qualifications

Enrollment in M Physicians ABRET recognized Program (EEG Pathway 2) working towards certificate of completion

BLS Certification

Required: R. EEG T. within 2 years of employment

Additional Locations UMMC, East Bank - 500 SE Harvard St. Minneapolis, MN 55414

Hours 40 hours/week, weekdays

Compensation 25.25 - 36.61 USD Hourly
