The Ohio State University’s John Glenn College of Public Affairs invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Public Budgeting and Finance at the rank of
Assistant or Associate Professor
beginning Autumn 2026. We seek applicants with high-quality research and teaching interests in public budgeting or public finance, including related areas such as financial management, reporting, budgeting methods, fiscal sustainability, debt management, capital finance, tax and fiscal policy, and financial administration. Candidates from related social science disciplines (e.g., public affairs, public policy, public management, public administration, economics, political science) are welcome. Responsibilities include teaching core and elective courses across undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs, plus scholarship and service to the college, university, community, and professional associations. Note:

Publish high-quality scholarship in public budgeting or public finance, including high-impact public affairs journals. Effectively teach core and elective courses across undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs, fostering inclusive learning environments. Engage in service to the college, university, community, and professional associations. Qualifications
Education and Experience Required: Conduct high-quality research in public budgeting or public finance. Have, or be on track to complete before starting, a Ph.D. in Public Affairs or a related field. Desired Engage with public affairs professional associations and publish in affiliated journals. Conduct research relevant to state or local government with potential partnerships with governmental entities. Have relevant prior teaching, mentoring, and professional experience.
