Under the supervision of the Facility Supervisor/Data Center Manager, ensure uptime in operational performance readiness, reliability, and integrity of the mission‑critical infrastructure systems, which includes UPS’s, PDU’s, Generators, fuel pumps and fuel storage, switch gear, utility feeds, transfer switches, chillers, CRAC’s, pumps, water piping, fire detection, fire suppression, access control, BMS monitoring and leak detection systems. Possess an advanced understanding of how these systems function and capable of performing corrective measures. This includes but is not limited to re‑setting alarms, operating breakers and switches, operating transfer switches, and starting back‑up systems. Supervise contractors and providers that support these systems. Respond to infrastructure emergencies on a 24/7 basis.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Assist with the installation, termination, and labeling of customer power services (e.g. electrical branch circuits, 120VAC to 480VAC, and -48VDC), install network cabling for customer cross connection, install computer cabinets, racks, and associated hardware, including: shelves, power distribution units, rails, cable management, customer equipment, and data center infrastructure. May include electrical circuit switching as required.

Assist Facility Supervisor/Data Center Manager with facility electrical and mechanical plant inspections on a regular basis, as determined by facility standard operating procedures, log all operational and performance statistics, perform preventive and remedial maintenance for facility HVAC & Electrical systems as needed or directed by the Facility Supervisor/Data Center Manager. Report all operational exceptions, safety concerns.

Assist with the maintenance of all preventive maintenance/service records and schedules for facility critical systems including the electrical and mechanical plants. Assist Facility Supervisor/Data Center Manager to ensure all equipment and service records are up to date and that future maintenance/service tasks are scheduled as required by manufacturer and industry best practice recommendations.

Ensure all customer/internal work orders are updated in a timely manner and contain accurate information by utilizing in‑house Customer Service Portal (CSP).

Perform customer support and technical remote assistance services for customers as assigned by Provisioning team and Facility Supervisor/Data Center Manager.

Responsible for all data center and office facility maintenance tasks such as replacing lightbulbs, drywall repairs, painting, doors and security locks, rust remediation, restrooms, etc. and coordinating with 3rd providers as needed for general repairs of the building as needed or as directed by the Facility Supervisor/Data Center Manager.

Responsible to oversee 3rd party vendors that provide cleaning services, pest control and other project‑related preventative maintenance/repairs of the data center and office facility maintenance.

Maintain facility parts and materials inventory as needed for critical systems and customer power circuit terminations. Ensure stock levels are maintained and procurement information is accurate. Coordinate inventory procurement and replenishing process via approvals by the Facility Supervisor/Data Center Manager.

Maintain cleanliness, organization, and physical appearance (including cable management) of datacenter and supporting rooms.

Provide on‑call coverage during scheduled and unscheduled work hours and respond either on‑site or remotely to customer requests and facility related matters. This requires carrying and utilizing a company issued cell phone.

Monitor all email and phone calls especially when assigned on‑call duties.

Professionally respond to customer inquiries (phone/email) on a timely basis as required per Company policies. Responding to any trouble‑calls from customers/vendors within Company Service Level Requirements and escalating any issues to management team as needed.

Assist Facility Supervisor/Data Center Manager with other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Working Knowledge of Electrical Power Distribution (120 – 480VAC), UPS, power generation, DC power distribution (-48VDC), HVAC Systems, BMS, and fire detection and protection systems.

Ability to read and interpret single‑line and facility diagrams.

Self‑management and concurrent project management skills.

Ability to maintain timely and accurate records.

Exhibit quality workmanship, cleanliness, and safety standards on all assigned tasks while maintaining data center readiness & customer availability.

Capacity to assist with all power distribution, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC operations.

General knowledge and understanding of air handling units and chilled water distribution systems.

Understanding of predictive maintenance practices to minimize or eliminate down time.

Capacity to recommend mechanical/HVAC/Power system design upgrades or modifications.

Assist in the development of capital project budgets & justification as required.

Capability to respond on an as‑needed basis to emergencies, 24x7, via mobile phone.

Participate in job specific training and educational opportunities, as time and work load permits.

Desire to keep informed of current industry standards and best practices.

An understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations including systems such as feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAHU units.

Preferred Qualifications

College or technical degree in electrical or mechanical field or equivalent work experience preferred.

Required minimum 2‑5 years’ experience in the electrical and/or mechanical maintenance, facility operations and management field.

Ability to lift 70 lbs., climb ladders, and work in elevated or tight spaces.

Above average computer skills & experience with Windows, Excel, Word, Visio, and Outlook.

Electrical and/or mechanical licenses, certifications preferred.
