Primary Function of Organizational Unit The mission of the Department of Language and Literature at North Carolina Central University is to engage students in languages, cultures, literatures, linguistics, and writing. We foster analytical and creative thinking, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills to prepare students for civic and professional responsibilities. The department teaches GEC courses in English, Foreign Languages, Humanities, and Philosophy and houses degree programs in English, Foreign Languages, and Interdisciplinary Studies.
Primary Purpose of Position To teach 1-3 sections of Spanish I and/or Spanish II per semester. To hold 4-8 office hours per week.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching in both face-to-face and/or online formats.
Minimum Education/Experience
M.A. in Spanish or Romance Language Required
Experience teaching Spanish at the college level
Licenses or Certification required by Statute or Regulation None
