Our team is growing in the Southern GA/Jacksonville FL area, and we are looking for a Sheet Metal Superintendent to support projects at Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base in Saint Marys, GA. The Sheet Metal Superintendent is responsible for daily supervision, direction and coordination of all sheet metal activities, assigned crews, and subcontractors on a project jobsite to safely produce quality work, within project requirements, targeted budget, schedule, and in alignment with RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise all
sheet metal construction , augmenting coordination with plumbing, insulation, pipefitting, and welding teams.
Manage and oversee sheet metal crews and relevant subcontractors to ensure work meets project specifications, timeline, and standards.
Maintain robust compliance with safety regulations, quality thresholds, and project guidelines, aligned with RQC's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Collaborate closely with the overall Superintendent to integrate sheet metal work with multiple trades on fast‑paced construction sites.
Ensure mechanical installations are performed according to government/military standards and building codes.
Proactively identify, mitigate, and resolve sheet metal‑related issues to keep projects running smoothly.
Cultivate teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work environment across all mechanical disciplines.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Foreman
specializing in sheet metal (preferably within commercial, industrial, or institutional projects with budgets of $400,000 or more).
3+ years of hands‑on field experience
with pressurized mechanical systems; government or military project experience is a strong plus.
Prior experience in
Design‑Build project delivery —particularly in assembly, detailing, or installation phases.
On‑site safety credentials : CPR, First Aid, OSHA 30‑Hour. Certifications such as EM‑385 or STS are a plus (training can be provided if needed).
Education : High school diploma or GED required; post‑secondary coursework in construction management, sheet metal technologies, or related disciplines preferred.
Computer Literacy : Comfortable with Microsoft Outlook; willingness to learn BIM or other digital construction tools (training available).
Effective leadership, communication, and collaboration skills on complex project sites.
