Job Overview
Here at Fairview, we are now seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to join us at our University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank location in Minneapolis, MN. This is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per 2 weeks) position that will work overnights, Monday through Friday from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
If the majority of your allocated shift hours are worked between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM, you will receive an additional $8.00 per hour on top of your base rate and shift differentials.
Responsibilities
Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
Performs examinations with technical accuracy and in a timely manner.
Verifies patient identification and documentation
Reviews physician order prior to exam or procedure.
Communicates pertinent information to the appropriate health care professional.
Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.
Communicates with and educates patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
Recognizes structures visualized and understands their significance.
Accurately produces and records measurements according to protocols.
Accurately conveys initial findings and clinical data to radiologists.
Participates in creating a culture of patient safety
Demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness for facility
Required Qualifications
Education at a level to be ARDMS registry eligible, including successful completion of sonography clinical requirements
ARDMS registered in one specialty or ARRT RT (S) registered within 90 Days
Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program
ARDMS registered in multiple specialties
