We are currently seeking a skilled Locum MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) specializing in Gastroenterology. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing temporary medical services to our clients. Your expertise will be vital in diagnosing and treating patients with gastrointestinal conditions, ensuring high-quality care and patient satisfaction. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse medical cases and contribute to the overall success of our healthcare staffing services. As a Locum MD or DO in Gastroenterology, you will be involved in a variety of projects, including performing endoscopic procedures, interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and educating patients on preventive healthcare measures. Conduct consultations and physical examinations of patients with gastrointestinal issues. Perform endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopies and gastroscopies. Interpret laboratory and imaging tests to diagnose conditions accurately. Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each patient\'s needs. Prescribe medications and monitor patient responses to treatment. Provide patient education on lifestyle modifications and preventive measures. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient encounters. Requirements:
Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution. Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology. Valid state medical license to practice as a physician. Proven experience in diagnosing and treating gastrointestinal disorders. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in patient care. Commitment to providing compassionate and evidence-based medical care. Schedule: 7a-7p + overnight beeper call Level II trauma Setting: 100% inpatient Daily Volume: 4-5 new consults, 15-18 inpatients, 4 procedures ERCP and EUS required Must be comfortable with moderate sedation Support Staff: 1-2 APPs Must teach APPs EMR: Epic Must be board-certified or board-eligible Paid travel & expenses
