Regulatory Counsel
– JW Michaels & Co.
JW Michaels is a global investment management firm seeking a Regulatory Counsel to join its Legal & Compliance team. Reporting to the General Counsel, this attorney will advise on regulatory obligations under U.S. securities laws and oversee compliance for multiple private fund vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
Advise investment professionals and operations teams on regulatory matters under the Advisers Act and related frameworks.
Manage SEC and NFA examinations and inquiries.
Review and enhance compliance policies and procedures.
Advise on marketing, trading, and governance matters.
Collaborate with global legal colleagues on cross-border compliance issues.
Required Qualifications
JD from a top 20 law school.
Minimum 3 years of relevant training at an AmLaw-100 law firm (or an equivalently prestigious boutique).
4 or 5 years of total relevant legal experience (law firm or in-house at an asset manager).
Strong knowledge of the Advisers Act, CFTC regulations, MNPI issues and related fund compliance topics.
Practical, business-oriented judgment and strong communication skills.
