Purpose and Objectives
SAP Next Gen connects curious, ambitious, team-oriented students and early talent to SAP\'s global community of innovators, peers, and leaders. The SAP Next Gen Academy for Product Management targets graduates with 2–3 years of professional experience. This 18-month rotational program develops deep expertise in Product Management and equips Associates with the skills, knowledge and experience required to build successful SAP products with high usage and satisfaction.
The SAP Next Gen Academy for Product Management is seeking a Global Program Manager. This role is accountable for the design, planning, and execution of the 18-month Academy program. The Global Program Manager will collaborate closely with the functional managers of Associates, as well as the Regional Program Managers in India, and Hungary, to ensure a consistent and high-quality learning experience across all regions.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership: Lead the planning, preparation, and execution of SAP’s state-of-the-art global Academy for Product Management.
Attract & Hire: Partner with Talent Discovery and business stakeholders to attract, hire, and onboard top early-career talent.
Content Design and Delivery: Design and deliver engaging, high-impact learning experiences, both virtually and in person, that accelerate skill development and readiness for Associates’ future roles within the Product Management organization.
People Development: Support Regional Program Managers and First-Line Leaders to develop, coach, evaluate, and performance-manage approximately 40 Early Talents per year, ensuring continuous growth and strong program outcomes.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with regional and global business stakeholders across SAP’s Product & Engineering organization to ensure program relevance and alignment with business priorities.
Program Optimization: Drive continuous improvement through feedback loops, analytics, and iteration of content and delivery methods.
Operational Excellence: Optimize scheduling, analytics, and tools for seamless program delivery and reporting.
Skills & Competencies
Product Management Expertise: Direct experience in Product Management or a strong, in-depth understanding of the role, responsibilities, and operational practices of Product Management.
Industry and Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of industry trends relevant to SAP\’s Products, including experience or proficiency in AI-driven product innovation and core product management disciplines critical for our Harmonized Product Operating Model (HPOM).
Program Development and Execution: Demonstrated ability to design, plan, and execute enablement programs that drive measurable business and learning outcomes.
Early Talent Development: Passion and skill for developing early-career professionals.
Leadership in a Matrixed Environment: Proven ability to lead and influence across complex, global organizational structures.
Stakeholder Influence: Strong capability to build trust and alignment with senior business leaders and cross-functional partners.
Coaching and Feedback: Skilled at facilitating skill development through actionable, specific, and growth-oriented feedback.
Continuous Improvement Mindset: Receptive to feedback, data insights, and performance metrics to continuously enhance program quality and efficiency.
Cultural Agility: Demonstrates global cultural awareness and respect; able to effectively engage with diverse audiences.
Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent communicator with empathy, influence, and negotiation strength; able to engage and inspire individuals and teams.
Language Skills: Fluent in English.
Work Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience working as a Product Manager or a comparable role.
Prior people-management experience preferred.
Prior experience designing and implementing talent development programs, preferably a talent development program for Product Managers.
Education & Qualifications
University degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Marketing, Communications, Design or Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)
