Physician, Primary Care with EDRP & Recruitment/Relocation Incentive U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Physician for primary care who is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) and who will receive a recruitment/relocation incentive.

Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) — a student loan payment reimbursement program. Applicants must meet the specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit their EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval and award amounts (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.

Qualifications Basic Requirements

United States citizenship. Non‑citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA policy.

Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine degree from an approved school for the year completed.

Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in any U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.

Completed residency in an accredited core specialty training program eligible for board certification, as approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs. Acceptable residencies include ACGME or AOA accredited programs, or non‑U.S. residency followed by at least five years of U.S. practice deemed appropriate by the local Medical Staff Executive Committee.

Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Preferred Experience

Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.

Experience with regulatory compliance and accreditation surveys (e.g., Joint Commission, OIG).

Teaching experience.

Physical Requirements

Potentially long periods of moderate lifting (15–44 lb), pushing (1–8 h), walking (2 h), standing (1–8 h), and repeated bending (1–2 h).

Both legs, vision, hearing, and color discrimination required.

Duties

Open continuous announcement; remain open until April 7 2026 or until positions are filled.

Eligible applications will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur.

Provide outpatient primary care to patients enrolled in CTVHCS and manage a patient panel under the PACT model.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary team (physician, RN, LVN, clerical staff, and other clinical services) to achieve health goals for Veterans.

Oversight of mid‑level providers and review of care provided by them.

Participate in special projects and initiatives as opportunities arise.

Work schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.

Base Pay Range $229,438.00 /yr – $286,043.00 /yr
