Accounts Receivable Director
Dallas, TX – hybrid, 3 days onsite.
Vaco has partnered with one of our PE-backed tech clients to look for an Accounts Receivable Director. They are in growth/acquisition mode with a ton of accounting projects and need someone with strong leadership and well-rounded AR experience. This is an opportunity to build out a team and overhaul processes and procedures to lead the company forward through the growth phase.
Compensation: $140-150K
Key Responsibilities
Build, lead, and mentor a newly forming AR team, focusing on performance, accountability, and continuous development.
Assess current team structure and capabilities, identify gaps and implement training or hiring strategies to strengthen the department.
Oversee the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including billing, credit, collections, cash application, and dispute resolution.
Design and implement scalable, efficient AR policies, procedures, and controls.
Partner with IT and finance systems teams to evaluate and enhance AR systems and tools (e.g., ERP, collections software).
Monitor AR aging reports, DSO, and other KPIs to drive continuous improvement and performance.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Service, and Legal to resolve billing disputes and ensure smooth cash flow.
Prepare and present AR forecasts, trend analyses, and risk assessments to executive leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or CPA a plus).
8-12+ years of progressive experience in Accounts Receivable or Credit & Collections.
Proven track record of building and leading high-performing AR or finance operations teams.
Experience implementing process improvements and automation within an AR function.
Strong knowledge of financial systems (ERP experience preferred: SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
