Assistant Store Manager

who will contribute to a profitable and customer-centric environment through the development of a team and management of total store operations. They will support product flow and apply merchant and customer service skills to curate a compelling in-store experience.

Responsibilities

Customer Experience: Cultivate an environment of genuine customer connection; demonstrate extraordinary service and act as a brand ambassador reflecting company values; facilitate an energized pace, positive service environment and team development; understand an OMNI channel business and implement processes and tools to better service the customer.

Leadership & Team Management: Support the Store Manager in recruiting, hiring, and retaining top talent; support the Store Manager in creating and maintaining a succession strategy; foster a culture of strong communication and teamwork to balance operational, visual and customer priorities; provide real-time feedback, coaching, and training to team members, escalating issues as needed to the Store Manager.

Training & Development: Deliver world-class in-person training (in conjunction with e-learning) to all new team members; ensure timely completion of new hire training paths; meet regularly with Tecovas HQ Retail Training team or field leaders to check on progress; suggest improvements or new programs related to retail training; ensure compliance of all training activities with policies and best practices; collaborate with store leadership to plan, schedule, and execute new hire training; coordinate ongoing in-store training for new products and services; attend regular training meetings to stay informed.

Visual Merchandising: Plan, preset, and execute visual directives; submit store photos as requested and act on HQ feedback; participate in visual training calls with HQ; uphold VM standards and complete replenishment tasks; support store presentation through sell-through and markdown cycles; maintain in-store marketing elements and store collateral; align schedules with visual set times for product launches; coordinate new hire visual training; oversee sales floor and windows for proper lighting, cleanliness, displays, and props.

Business Operations: Uphold and ensure compliance with shipments, transfers, and restock standards; follow Loss Prevention procedures; set clear objectives to drive a consistent store experience and uphold operational and visual standards; demonstrate adaptability to effect positive change and enable the team to execute a shared vision.

Qualifications

3+ years Retail Management experience

Exceptional leadership, selling, and customer service skills

Strong merchant skills and a history of delivering financial results

Proven ability to hire and develop great talent

Experience in coaching, counseling & conflict resolution

Independent, proactive, results-driven work ethic

High character, honesty, and transparency

Requirements

High School Diploma required (College Degree preferred)

Must be at least 18 years of age or older

Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and to reach overhead, bend, squat, and kneel as you organize and stock inventory

Ability to deliver excellent customer service while implementing loss prevention practices

Able to lift up to 30 lbs regularly and perform store maintenance tasks

Reliable commute to the work location

Availabile to work 40 hours per week including weekends (Fri–Sun), evenings and holidays as needed

In accordance with the State of California, please see the following hourly pay rate for this position: $27-30 per hour.
