Position Overview Valiant is looking for a full‑time

Knowledge Manager

with a proven record of creating strategies and processes to effectively improve knowledge and information sharing by leveraging collaborative technologies in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.

This position will interface with the Center for Excellence in Disaster Management & Humanitarian Assistance and provide a recommended strategy for improvements, including other DOD‑approved content management systems and web‑based services to enhance the overall performance, usability, and usage of the client’s website.

The role is on‑site, Monday‑Friday, 8:30‑4:30 AM (Ford Island, Oahu, Hawaii).

Responsibilities and Duties

Support and revitalize the Center’s knowledge management program by developing and executing a strategy that focuses on using knowledge‑tools and processes to address existing knowledge issues while aligning with the Center’s overall strategic goals.

Serve as the project manager and administrator for the implementation of the Canvas Learning Management Suite to enable the Center to host virtual courses and enhance on‑site courses.

Perform Canvas administrative duties, including course and Collaborate session creation and management, permission management, user training, information architecture design and implementation, and basic troubleshooting.

Provide oversight and guidance on the Center’s use and development of SharePoint.

Perform SharePoint Site Collection administrative duties, including site creation, permission management, user training, information architecture design and implementation, and basic troubleshooting.

Work with graphic designers and software developers to design, develop, and implement user interfaces, graphics, applications, and features that address business requirements for the Center’s SharePoint.

Monitor and assess the performance of the internal SharePoint Site Collection and sub‑site.

Perform website administrator duties, including user permissions, training, documentation, and information architecture design.

Work with designers and developers to design, develop, and implement user interface, webpages, graphics, applications, and features for the public‑facing website.

Monitor and assess performance of the public‑facing website; post and manage content; create and distribute monthly web presence metrics reports.

Track and manage renewal of the website content management system license, SSL certificate, and domain addresses.

Manage and maintain the Center’s presence on APAN Community, including user permissions, training, documentation, and new sub‑groups.

Create and maintain registration forms in APAN’s SharePoint for training courses.

Assist with monitoring and posting to social media accounts on Facebook & Twitter.

Assist DoD organizations worldwide with defining information sharing goals and objectives related to unclassified information sharing with non‑U.S. DoD entities (NGOs, IOs, foreign militaries, civilians) and provide technical solutions.

Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications.

Provide analysis and recommendations for website enhancements.

Account for website maintenance, inventory support, and user support.

Analyze and recommend changes to increase website functionality.

Maintain and troubleshoot error codes from the website.

Research and transition to a new content management system in Azure Government Cloud.

Work with the Pacific Warfighting Center to code the search function and troubleshoot security/firewalls for DoD hosting.

Support redesign and reorganization of the website.

Support adding videos/interviews to the website.

Optimize responsive web design for mobile devices and platforms.

Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements Education Requirement:

BA/BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Master’s preferred.

Clearance Requirement:

Ability to obtain Secret; Active Secret preferred.

Job Requirements

10+ years of Knowledge Management experience.

Experience working with Department of Defense systems and collaborative platforms.

Experience with Canvas Learning Management System.

Experience with Collaborate Web Conferencing and Genius SIS.

Experience with SharePoint & SharePoint Designer.

Full‑stack development knowledge.

Scripting/Programming Languages: Java, JavaScript, HTML, SCSS/CSS, ASP.NET.

Experience with SQL Server or other relational databases.

Experience with Azure Government Cloud or a similar cloud computing environment.

Knowledge of commonly utilized AI applications.

Desired Requirements

Full‑stack development: 3 years.

Back‑end programming in Python, C, and/or Java: 3 years.

Front‑end development with HTML, JavaScript and/or CSS: 3 years.

Knowledge of Angular, MVC, Git, Bootstrap.

Experience with requirements gathering.

Knowledge of client‑ and server‑side web technologies and protocols.

Knowledge of common application and web design patterns.

Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills.

Familiarity with third‑party command line applications.

Experience working in a DOD IT environment.

Knowledge of information assurance compliance to specified standards, including DOD STIGs and ICD‑503.

Creates and maintains database designs for data storage and processing.

Physical Requirements Physical requirements may include lifting, ascending and descending stairs, climbing, extended sitting or standing, to various degrees.

This job will primarily be in an office setting.
