The Digital Marketing Specialist works with the marketing team to execute our digital media programs, focused on social media, lead generation, communications, content creation, and content management.

Your role is tightly coordinated with all aspects of Pivotal marketing, including events, PR, growth marketing, product marketing, and CRM, and involves a strong balance of planning and execution, requires both creativity and analytics, and is driven by performance and ROI.

The person in this role delivers all aspects of social media, including social strategy, social posts, community management, reporting, and digital asset management. While this position is centered on social media, it covers a broad range of digital marketing activities, including lead generation, funnel management, and external and internal communications. Pivotal is very much a startup environment, and we need everyone to wear multiple hats, yet be always focused on the top priorities.

Your day-to-day tasks and priorities are managed closely with the Growth Marketing Director, who leads programs in the responsibility areas below. In addition to the internal team, you would also work closely with our agency partner and content creators.

Roles and Responsibilities Social Media

Set social marketing strategy and goals by customer segment — personal aircraft, public safety, and defense — based on input from stakeholders on the sales and leadership teams

Manage daily social marketing activities in partnership with our marketing agency:

Draft and maintain the content calendar

Write copy and select images and videos for posts

Determine optimal posting schedule for each social platform

Drive the approval process and post content on schedule

Engage with each social community to support our sales and marketing goals

Capture and interpret metrics; show continuous improvement

Coordinate brand messaging and stories with marketing team members

Influencer Program

Define strategy and build stakeholder support for the social influencer program

Identify candidate influencers

Reach out to candidate influencers directly and through our marketing partner

Manage influencer selection, contracting, and program execution

Measure performance; based on learning, adjust program strategy

Content creation and image capture

Contribute to Pivotal overall content strategy and execution

Work closely with the event team to capture photos and videos

Produce and edit in-house content; manage and edit third-party content

Support website copywriting and asset selection

Support the Growth Marketing Manager their production of high-end video

Digital asset management

Manage the Canto digital asset management platform

Manage nearreal-time intake, sorting, curation, and archival of digital media assets from diverse sources including customers, event attendees, employees, and contractors

Keep raw and approved (deployable) assets up to date and accessible

Create and maintaina solution for long-term cold storage

Provide self-serve access to brand assets; provide support to colleagues

Digital marketing tools

Develop and maintain HubSpot literacy to drive social and campaign programs

Use Jira to manage projects, deliverables, and schedules

Use Adobe Creative Suite to prepare content for distribution

Choose tools needed for managing social posts to coordinate social execution and measurement

Lead Generation

Understand our target markets and the Ideal Customer Profile for consumer, public safety, and defense

Assist in defining campaigns directed towards owned, earned, and paid channels

Contribute to the execution of campaigns at different stage of the sales and marketing funnel

Test campaign approaches and measure performance to drive continuous improvement

Help produce a campaign playbook that allows others to be cross-trained and assist in campaign execution

Communications

Take ownership of the monthly Pivotal newsletter, working with our marketing agency to plan the calendar, produce compelling content, and improve performance

Support the creation and evolution of sales tools for defense and public safety prospects

Create content that helps us support the customer journey by increasing awareness, consideration, trial, and purchase

Support internal marketing efforts to produce planning and reporting documents

Additional Responsibilities

Follow up on website messages received from info@pivotal.aero and news@pivotal.aero; track content and volume

Participation in events and customer activities

Response to new initiatives that create opportunities for learning and growth for yourself and the company

Qualifications

Two years or more years of digital marketing experience

Exposure to B2C and B2B markets preferred

Bachelor's degree and coursework in relevant disciplines

Solid understanding of owned, earned, and paid marketing channels

Personal engagement with social media at a personal level

Creative talent for storytelling

Strong analytical and modeling skills

Effective verbal and written communication skills

$75,000 - $101,000 a year

Applicants must be eligible for employment in the United States and willing to work onsite at our HQ office in Palo Alto, CA.
