The Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine, at Weill Cornell Medicine (WCM) invites applications for a clinical faculty position and Assistant Hospital Epidemiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell. Applicants should have expertise and interest in healthcare epidemiology, antimicrobial stewardship, and general infectious diseases. Candidates should have strong clinical and teaching qualifications. Responsibilities will include working within the interdisciplinary Infection Prevention & Control team on activities such as surveillance and prevention of healthcare associated infections, outbreak investigation, creating/updating hospital policies/guidelines related to infection prevention/control and/or antimicrobial stewardship as well as education of healthcare personnel. Clinical responsibilities will include direct patient care, the supervision and teaching of housestaff (residents and fellows) and medical students as well as active participation in Division and Departmental activities. The candidate will work as a member of vibrant multidisciplinary teams within the Infection Prevention & Control department and with the Infectious Disease consult service in providing consultative care to a diverse patient population. Areas of focus include healthcare epidemiology and antimicrobial stewardship. Opportunities exist to work collaboratively on the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives related to infection prevention and control and antimicrobial stewardship. This position offers substantial opportunities for growth, leadership, and academic advancement within Infectious Diseases at our institution. Opportunities for teaching of fellows/residents/students and pursuit of research to answer clinical, translational, and health care delivery questions are important components of the position. Candidates thus are expected to have a strong commitment to clinical medicine, teaching, and clinical research.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

MD or equivalent medical professional degree. Candidate must be board certified in infectious disease and must be eligible to practice in the State of New York. Preferred Qualifications:

Training and experience in one of the areas of focus, including prevention of healthcare-associated infections and antimicrobial stewardship.

Compensation Information: $210000.00 / Annually - $245000.00 / AnnuallyAdditional Compensation: 10000.00
