A talented Transportation Construction Services Engineer‑In‑Training 1 is needed to support roadway and bridge construction projects for local and state agencies in Chicago, IL. The candidate will work with senior staff on construction management activities and will gain experience in transportation construction engineering.
What You Will Be Doing
Maintain proper documentation of daily construction site activities.
Make calculations in a format that can easily be checked by others.
Prepare reports, coordinate progress meetings with contractor and owner, and manage shop drawing review process.
Resolve contractor questions and plan drawing clarifications.
Ensure quality of work and meet scheduled timeframe for assignments.
Perform thorough review of work before turning in an assignment.
Maintain assigned billability rate and work overtime as directed.
Communicate actively with client and assist BD manager with marketing, interviews and proposal preparation.
Comply with accepted professional safety standards and Stanley’s Group Safety manual.
Required Qualifications
Four‑year degree in civil engineering.
Previous experience in engineering or construction preferred.
Demonstrated organization and time‑management abilities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Developing decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to multitask effectively.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with team members and managers.
Demonstrates autonomy, assertiveness, flexibility, and cooperation while performing duties.
Displays eagerness to learn new tasks and asks questions as needed.
Aptitude to act as a positive representative of Stanley Consultants and to participate in professional organizations.
Salary:
$70,600 – $88,600 a year (Illinois location)
