The Department of Ophthalmology seeks a full‑time open‑rank oculoplastic/orbital surgeon. Academic rank and salary are negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Position Summary The Department of Ophthalmology at UNC – Chapel Hill is seeking a full‑time open‑rank oculoplastic/orbital surgeon. Academic rank and salary are negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
MD or DO required.
Completed a 12‑24 month post‑residency fellowship in oculoplastic/orbital surgery.
Graduated from an approved ophthalmic residency training program and satisfied fellowship requirements.
Board certification or eligibility and eligibility for licensure in North Carolina required.
Excellent training in orbital surgery necessary.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Excellent clinical and surgical skills.
Experience with ophthalmic ultrasound.
Strong commitment to teaching and an ongoing interest in clinical and/or basic science research.
Special Physical/Mental Requirements Occasional on‑call; patient care involved.
Special Instructions FTE is negotiable between 0.5–1.0. The position may also involve work at Fayetteville VA on occasion.
