Medical Director, Living Donor Liver Transplant Program

at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY.

Responsibilities

Oversee the medical care of patients with liver diseases, including those in need of liver transplantation.

Diagnose and treat liver conditions; assess eligibility for liver transplantation.

Oversee pre- and post-transplant care.

Educate medical students, residents, and GI and Transplant Hepatology fellows.

Lead donor evaluations and selection of donors for living donor liver transplant.

Lead policy and guideline development and ongoing maintenance.

Drive the strategic vision of the program; participate in and direct relevant QAPI initiatives.

Lead the overall program and provide clinical leadership; drive program development and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

Board certification in transplant hepatology.

5+ years of transplant hepatology experience (preferred).

Leadership experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within a large health system or academic medical center.

Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

BE/BC in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology; proven expertise in General and Transplant Hepatology as well as endoscopy.

Eligibility for medical licensure in New York State.

Role open to candidates at assistant, associate, and professor of medicine levels, depending on qualifications and experience.

Experience in academic research and/or teaching is highly valued.
