Sr Strategic Field Applications Engineer
Job Function: Sales Job Summary
This role is on site at our Santa Clara, CA location. The main responsibility of the Sr. (Strategic) FAE position is to proactively support Vicor power solutions into various market opportunities with a primary focus in Data Center and AI applications. This involves strategic coordination with their assigned Sales Manager and Customer Service Representative, providing pre- and post-Sales support including product selection and or definition based on the customer's application needs, product installation assistance from an electrical, mechanical and thermal aspect, and troubleshooting customer systems.
Articulate technology, power architectures, and product positioning to both business and technical users.
Develop business and relationships: direct business development with customers and, in conjunction with channel partners, with distribution.
Capture technical requirements and architecture of a customer’s system and act as the liaison to Product Line Engineers.
Establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.
Participate in design reviews (schematic/layout).
Handle incoming customer phone and e-mail inquiries.
Travel 30-50% for regular customer visits.
Conduct technical seminars and provide product training for the manufacturer’s rep organization.
Assist with hands-on product evaluations and generate application notes under the direction of the FAE manager.
Education / Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. 5 - 7+ years related experience in either analog/power supply design or analog-based applications engineering, capable Electronics Technician skills. Excellent understanding of analog design. Experience in designing and/or testing VR solutions for CPUs, GPUs, and/or ASICs is highly desirable. Compensation Data
Salary Range: $120,000 - $135,000. This salary range does not include a 20% cost of living adjustment. This range is based on current market-driven pay structures and individual salaries are determined by factors including skills, education, experience and internal equity. Nearest Major Market:
