Description The USP HQS Center of Excellence creates solutions that support the healthcare practitioner community in helping to ensure patients access to quality medicines. The Senior Manager, Engagement & Program Solutions will be responsible for leading and shaping the delivery of scalable solutions to support institutions and healthcare practice settings. These solutions include the USP Compounding Compendium, outpatient drug classification resources, hazardous drug handling tools, education courses, and health literacy solutions such as drug audio pronunciation and pictograms.
This leadership position will partner with the Senior Director of HQS and the Director of HQS Standards to shape the strategy of the HQS Program Unit. The incumbent will facilitate strategic direction to monitor future healthcare practice trends and deliver fit‑for‑purpose solutions to support healthcare practitioners.
Responsibilities
Provide feedback on customer needs to shape new program solutions through standards setting, education, and engagement.
Keep abreast of current trends and developments in related scientific, healthcare and technology industries.
Drive awareness, adoption, and usage of HQS standards, products, education course materials and solutions through communications and support materials.
Expand the reach of HQS Education Solutions and content licensing.
Facilitate tailored marketing to target audience in partnership with marketing company.
Lead exhibit booth planning and engagement at strategic conferences.
Facilitate key program planning and project completion against goals, objectives and success metrics to gauge success of programs in terms of revenue and public health impact, including monitoring the HQS Revenue Dashboard.
Develop quarterly and annual sales and account development plans.
Work with cross‑functional groups (e.g., science, global communications, strategic insights, legal) and/or third‑party vendors on planning, design and implementation of digital tools, education and communication campaigns.
Travel to build stakeholder relationships and drive business development (approximately 20% of time).
Supervise the scientist driving education content and engagement as part of a professional supervisory role.
Qualifications
Degree in science (pharmacy, medical, nursing, etc.) or relevant field with not less than 6 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare or consumer products industry.
A minimum of 7 years of demonstrated success in institutional sales or key account management for healthcare practitioners facing products.
Knowledge and broad network of stakeholders impacted by Healthcare Quality and Safety Standards.
Strong business acumen and ability to motivate towards use of program offerings and tools.
Ability to make critical decisions using a broad, organization‑wide perspective.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop important relationships with customers, stakeholders, and conflict management skills.
Experience managing a diverse and multi‑faceted staff including scientists, healthcare practitioners and support staff.
