We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead all aspects of direct and indirect tax compliance, planning, and strategy. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely tax filings, supporting tax audits, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a proactive approach to managing tax operations. This position will report directly to the Senior Director of Tax and is based in Mt. Laurel, NJ.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all areas of direct tax (corporate income tax, tax provisions, deferred tax, transfer pricing) and indirect tax (VAT/GST, sales and use tax, excise tax, customs duties).

Oversee the preparation and filing of corporate and indirect tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.

Analyze financial and apportionment data to prepare federal and state tax workpapers.

Prepare and review global tax reconciliations in accordance with corporate policies.

Manage extension filings and quarterly estimated tax payments (federal and state).

Review monthly sales and use tax calculations.

Support property tax compliance and registration processes.

Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and reporting requirements.

Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.

Assist with tax audits and manage correspondence with tax authorities.

Collaborate with accounting, finance, and legal teams to ensure proper tax treatment of business activities.

Monitor tax legislation changes and assess their impact on the business.

Support tax technology initiatives, including automation of compliance and reporting.

Coordinate with external tax advisors and consultants.

Conduct ad hoc tax research and support special projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field.

5–7 years of experience in tax, with a focus on both direct and indirect taxes.

Strong knowledge of corporate income tax, VAT/GST, sales tax, and other indirect taxes.

Experience with tax accounting under GAAP and/or IFRS.

Proficiency in ERP systems and tax software (e.g., JDE, OneSource, Vertex).

Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office skills.

Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Demonstrated leadership in managing tax projects or teams.

Preferred Qualifications

CPA certification.

Master’s degree in Taxation.

Experience with SAGE Fixed Asset Software and JDE general ledger.

Strong understanding of U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance.

Background in a multinational corporation or Big 4 public accounting firm.

Proven ability to drive tax process improvements and automation.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Experience with tax technology and project management best practices.

US Salary Pay Range

$1 - $150,000 USD
