Responsibilities:
Manage daily and month-end close processes for broker‑dealer operations, including posting journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
Prepare FOCUS reports, regulatory filings, and ensure accurate calculation of regulatory net capital requirements.
Assist with regulatory audits, annual audits, and coordinate with auditors and key stakeholders.
Support preparation of annual financial statement schedules and ensure compliance with financial reporting standards.
Identify areas for operational improvement and implement efficiencies in accounting and reporting processes.
Leverage technology to continuously enhance financial controls and reporting practices.
Conduct ad‑hoc financial analyses as needed for special projects or initiatives.
Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to streamline processes and drive best practices.
Must-Have Skills:
5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in financial services and broker‑dealer environments.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Expertise with G/L systems; Microsoft Dynamics strongly preferred.
Advanced skills in Excel; familiarity with SQL and/or Python is a plus.
Strong collaboration and communication skills for effective partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
Tech‑forward mindset with a passion for process automation and efficiency.
Proven problem‑solving abilities, with adaptability to dynamic and fast‑growing business environments.
Ownership mentality with initiative to identify and resolve gaps and drive improvements.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Previous experience supporting regulatory audits or annual audits.
Knowledge of broker‑dealer operations and industry‑specific regulatory requirements.
Hands‑on experience utilizing SQL and Python to improve accounting processes.
Ability to drive cross‑departmental initiatives and enhance team collaboration.
Experience with implementing reporting enhancements and adopting new accounting technologies.
Base pay range $120,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr
