Town of Mashpee
The Mashpee Fire & Rescue Department welcomes applications for the positions of full time Firefighter Paramedic or EMT. Candidates will be required to successfully pass an oral board assessment interview, appointing authority interview, comprehensive background investigation, medical examination, cardiovascular stress test, psychological examination, and physical agility test (Commonwealth of Massachusetts HRD PAT).
Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED, minimum of age 18 upon appointment, valid MA driver’s license, certification as a MA Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic or Basic, no felony convictions, a person of unquestionable character and integrity that can hold a position of public trust, agrees not to smoke tobacco, ability to perform the general duties, essential functions and other responsibilities required by department policies and job description. Candidates must successfully complete the MFA Recruit Academy (NFPA FF 1&2). Must successfully serve a minimum of a one (1) year probationary period.
Hiring preference will be given to candidates based on the following: Mashpee resident for six months or longer; graduate of the MFA Recruit Academy (NFPA FF 1&2) or other equivalent Academy; MA certified Paramedic (proof of these preferences must be presented at the time of application).
Starting salary FF/Paramedic $81,780.80 – $92,650.43/year | FF/EMT $71,737.55 – $81,272.31/year commensurate with qualifications, experience, and training.
Comprehensive benefits package includes Town contribution of 75% towards the cost of health insurance, defined benefit pension program, generous vacation package, life/dental/vision plan options, as well as deferred compensation plans.
