Job Summary
The
Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)
acts as a strategic advisor and trusted partner to leadership teams and employees, delivering comprehensive HR support that aligns people strategies with organizational goals. This role focuses on
talent management, employee relations, compliance, engagement, and leadership development , ensuring a high-performing and compliant workforce. The HRBP will collaborate with both office and field teams to drive operational excellence and foster a positive, safety-focused workplace culture. Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic HR Support
Partner with leadership to implement HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
Provide guidance on workforce planning, organizational development, and change management.
Analyze HR metrics (turnover, engagement, and performance) to provide insights and recommendations.
2. Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
Collaborate with hiring managers to create strategic recruitment plans.
Oversee the full recruitment process—from sourcing and interviews to offers.
Enhance onboarding programs for both office and field employees.
Conduct new hire check-ins at 1 week, 15, 30, and 90 days to support retention.
3. Employee Relations & Performance Management
Advise leaders and employees on HR-related matters, including coaching, grievances, and conflict resolution.
Lead investigations into employee complaints or misconduct.
Partner with management on disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans.
Support recognition and performance programs that promote accountability and engagement.
4. Compliance & HR Operations
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws (OSHA, DOT, labor standards).
Maintain DOT and driver list compliance, including MVR reviews.
Assist in the development and rollout of HR policies and training programs.
Conduct HR audits to ensure data accuracy and regulatory compliance.
5. Safety & Workers’ Compensation
Partner with the Safety Department to promote a culture of safety.
Oversee workers’ compensation cases, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
Support leadership in implementing proactive safety initiatives.
6. Training & Development
Identify training and leadership development needs across departments.
Assist in the creation and delivery of compliance, leadership, and professional development programs.
Support upskilling, engagement, and succession planning efforts.
7. Employee Engagement & Retention
Lead engagement initiatives including recognition, wellness, and retention programs.
Analyze turnover data and recommend actionable strategies.
Promote an inclusive, communicative, and collaborative company culture.
8. Compensation & Benefits
Provide guidance on employee benefits and support open enrollment.
Partner with leadership to maintain competitive compensation practices.
Process payroll changes, promotions, and terminations accurately.
9. HR Systems & Reporting
Serve as the HRIS (Vista) subject matter expert, maintaining accurate employee data.
Deliver reports on HR metrics (headcount, turnover, performance).
Use data insights to recommend process and policy improvements.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience:
5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in the
construction industry .
Strong knowledge of labor laws, OSHA, DOT compliance, and HR best practices.
Proven ability to partner with leadership teams to implement strategic HR solutions.
Proficiency in HRIS systems —
Vista or BambooHR experience a plus.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
